They have had several public awareness campaigns including, flu pandemic, summer safety, poverty and environmental stewardship. The Spanish Red Cross and Ericsson market unit, Iberia have collaborated on a project in disaster response and awareness. The Spanish Red Cross also works extensively in disaster response with other partners and on its own.
Towards the goal that all members of the educational community must work towards a ‘culture of safety’ in their schools, preventative measures and evacuation procedures are delineated in documents distributed to school personnel. They are currently creating teacher materials on disaster risk reduction.
